Hey Snowbirds: Be careful: An accident happened this morning that is causing a great big mess. Traffic is backed up for miles. All of this is close to the Disney World cut off in and around Orlando, Florida.
This morning around 6:00 a.m., (in and around Orlando) area mile marker 173 in Malabar, there was a crash involving two semi-trucks. I-95 southbound lanes are closed in Brevard County.
Who knows how the accident happened, but apparently, one of the semi-trucks caught fire and the other spilled diesel fuel onto the highway. The news reports state one of the drivers was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. No word on the other one.
Traffic is backed up for miles. The Florida highway patrol is diverting traffic but expect significant delays regardless of which way your heading. If you have an RV or camper you might want to just pull over and wait for the highway to be cleared. If your in an Electric vehicle, low on gas, or need a “washroom break” – good luck!
The main Florida north/south highways’ are like the arteries that run through your body. A blockage anywhere causes Mayhem. Thank heavens for the excellent highway patrol and emergency services that patrol the routes.
